The Victoria Target Theatre Society (Target) started in 1986 as a group of older adults with an interest in the performing arts. Over the years, Target has grown into a company of mature actors who volunteer their time to research, write and perform plays that focus on the concerns of seniors. Target players rehearse weekly from September to June, and perform an average of twice monthly.
Because Target performs almost exclusively in response to impromptu requests from the community, we usually have two or three plays stage-ready. Because of limited time and resources, we use mostly the same company of actors for all performances. For this reason, we rarely audition actors for specific plays or performances. From time to time, however, we hold auditions when we need to recruit and train new actors.
Players are expected to attend all weekly meetings and to become participating members of the Society. If you are interested on working with Target, please let us know how to contact you so that we can let you know when we will be holding auditions.
